Hi all, I'm planning on chucking a good bit of money at the car in the lead up to summer. I've budgeted about 10k and one of the things I'd like to do is to go hybrid. Can anyone who has done it tell me what sort of prices I can expect to pay? I have no intention of cutting any corners so cost really isn't an issue if there's extra parts that will make it perform better :)

10k!! I'd rather keep the money myself, but i'm sure that will get you a weapon of a car lol....

10k on mods, thats keen lol

What mods have you got already?

From my experience your looking at £600 for full Milltek exhaust (or go any other brand if you like, be roughly same cost, slightly less likely) Budget same again for intercooler and piping and then £300-400 for mapping if all goes well. Cost of a hybrid turbo, well im not sure but for a new unit and hybrid I think your looking at £1000? And for a comparison I was £1083 for sachs clutch, dual mass flywheel and release bearing. I see darkside developments now do a clutch and silent single mass flywheel for around £700. Also EGR delete if you go that way, £70

I know it will be reduced, but I'm sure it will still be better than doing the equivalent on a 1.8t?

I can manage 60mpg with just shy of 300 bhp.

Dont listen to petrol idiots who don't have a clue :p

Clutch - 1k
Diff - 700
Gtb2260vk (forget hybrid, honestly) plus all the bits to fit it - 2k
Rods - 700
Intercooler piping - 200
map - 500

Then run a genuine 250-260. If u want More in future, head cam and injectors will see the magic 300 mark

Hybrid £1,100.
Custom mapping £3-500.
Clutch and flywheel £800(ish) + fitting.
LSD £700(ish) + fitting- will transform the car well worth it with big power!!

I'd sell your JOMs and buy some kw v3's and get them properly set up.

£300+ water/meth injection.

Edit - go with vrooms turbo suggestion :)

I've already got a full milltek system and egr delete. Fmic not an issue as its a Cupra but I would probably upgrade all the hosing to one of the forge kits. I would definitely be wanting to go single mass flywheel and obviously do all the engine mounts and gearbox mount as well. So looks like 10k is more than enough? Also what kind of bhp figures should I be expecting? I'm guessing high 200s?

Cupra fmic is shite. You'll blow it in no time. If your talking hybrid, you'll never see high 200s. 220 is more realistic

Ooh a few really helpful replys there guys thanks very much! I definitely want to be hitting the 300 mark!

And as far as the JOMs are concerned I think I'll stick them on just now and upgrade when the time comes around. Means I can slap the JOMs on her FR :)

Perfect suggestions. Id buy a diff before a hybrid. Best mod you can do IMO.

Proper set up v3s mean u can use the power.

IMO cylinder pressures end up too high with water/meth and it's not needed if mapped well.

Probably going to get flamed for this, but punt the ibiza and use your 10k to get something like an evo 9 or similar.

Hit the magic 300 mark no bother and no need for buying parts or worrying about traction :D
