Hey yall! Just spend the last 4hrs trying to do a job that should have taken 20mins! Changing a rear wheel bearing! Bought the kit 4 £10 from a local garage after they'd checked the make, age & engine size of my car on their computer. Anyway, goes to fit today & low & behold its too fookan small! Its definetly for an ibiza.... just not mine!! Im assuiming that pre & post facelifts must hav slightly different rear drums! Tried to take the bearing back to the shop.... but they where shut!! AGH!!![:@]

Checked online when i got home & it turns out there r 2 possibles bearings for my car! The 1 that i bought that cost roughly £10 & 1 that includes half of the rear hub!! This cost £50+!!! WTF!!! a £40 difference!! So im debating weather to buy the £50 hub kit or just pulling & old hub off a post facelift car from my local scraps & fitting the bearing that iv already got!

advice please?
Any1 else ever had this much trouble?

Dont quite kno what u mean man? Inside the drum theres more like 2 bearings a large 1 that should fit in2 the hub & a small 1 that sit right at the front just behind the split pin cover that hold the whole thing together. My problem is the the diameter of the larger bearing is too small to fit into my hub but annoyingly the smaller bearing at the front fits!!

hope this kinda helps?

what year's your car? I just nipped down to GSF and picked up my rear wheel bearings for £7.50 - they never mentioned anything about other bearings for mk2 ibizas - i didnt even tell em much about the car before they went to get the parts. Looks like i might have had a lucky escape!
