Rear door lock

Hi all,

Probably something thats been discussed before, but having issues with the door locking mechanism on one of the rear doors of my 2004 Mk1 Leon.

When you unlock the car with the key fob all the doors will unlock apart form the rear left door. You can't open the door from the inside either.

Several presses of the lock/ and unlock control button on the drivers door will eventually unlock the rear left door.

It's an intermittent problem. You can hear the rear left door mechanism sounds 'lazy'.

Is this an issue with the door acctuator or the lock itself? Any info would be helpful and part numbers would be amazing.

I have the exact same issue, my nearside rear door will lock and unlock most of the time, then will be temperamental. Lots of locking, unlocking, locking, unlocking, ear to the door to see if I can hear it unlocking and then it eventually opens

It's worse when it's cold for some reason

Mines also a 2004 plate, not sure if that makes a difference?

I'm guessing it's just age affecting the central locking solenoids and they need replacing?

My drivers door lock has completely given up the ghost and I have to use the key to make sure it's locked. It's shame as I fixed the leaking door seal on the drivers door then the lock started playing up

Yeh, a common problem.

Get them replaced asap as sods law seas they'll finally pack up in the locked position. Opening up a whole new world of pain.

Adding to that, the problems with sealing the door panels up again and waiting with fingers crossed the next time it rains.
