hello!
i bought a set of rear LED lights of Dectane on ebay

when i fitted them i realised that the fog light and reversing light are on the opposite side ( im from Northern Ireland)

it means that my reversing light is red and my fog light is bright white

i know i probably should have known about this but i never thought :(

do any of yous know if there is a way around this or do i just need to buy a new set of lights that are the same as standard??

it states on ebay that they are E Marked and will pass MOT but surely this cant be right if the lights are opposite sides

thanks in advance if anyone can help me!

Can you not buy a red bulb and a clear one and then change them around? I did this on my Hella rear lights, or is the casing coloured?

Then you are stuck sadly. I have read about people of here having a 'red reverse' due to Euro lights. It's upto you whether you fit them or not. Other than fitting a really strong red bulb and hoping that 'reddens' the fog (the red reverse wouldn't bother me) I'm not sure what you can do.

And I'm not sure what the police / MOT testing would make of them

i wouldnt really use my fog lights to be honest so thats oks- il just blind the people behind if i turn it on lol

its more the red reversing light that would annoy me

dont know what to do

the car has another year before MOT so if i did keep them then i could just change them back to the standard lights as its easy job :D

thanks for your help anyway :D

We had this issue with the Hella tail lights but it was sorted by swapping over the bulb holders as both lenses were the same colour.
It is a legal requirement to have the foglight on the driver's side.

Doesnt sound like it Im afraid. Id be contacting the seller and checking if rhd units are available. It may just be boxed or supplied wrongly. Its always going to look wrong the way it is . . . . .

Where abouts in N. Ireland you from? i was strongly considering buying a set of the black Dectanes as i think they would look great on my white Leon! i know they are LHD fitment like you have pointed out though. I too wouldn't care about the foglight as i never use it but the reversing one being red would annoy me slightly i think...

I hope you find a way round it and i'll keep an eye on this as they are still the only aftermarket rear lights i have found that are a nice black colour.

im from Lurgan

im thinkin about wiring the lights the other way round, this would work wudnt it?

i dont care about the fog light either- its just my reversing light that would annoy me to

Thanks

Sarah

im from ballymena. you have any pics of the lights fitted?

I say go for the wiring, best of luck with it and let us know the outcome! Really hope it works!

Hi. There are legal requirements for position of the lights and colour, i.e. fog on drivers side and red. Wiring it up as said is really only way around it. Im not too far from Lurgan, you missed our meet there last month.

i joined this a while ago and only back it now

i like having a nosey at what people have done to theirs cars :D

i will get pics up later of them on the car

i wudnt use my fog light much so hopefully it will be ok

i like the lights so dont want to put the standard ones back on

i will let you's know what the outcome of the lights is :D

thanks people

never knew there was meets- must get to the next one

Put them in and see what you think then. At the end of the day, its never that foggy over here anyway. Just swap them over for the M.O.T.

You could put a red bulb into the reversing light if you want so that it would then be like a fog light?

if im to change the wires then i will change it back for the MOT but its not for another year- might not even have the car then lol

dont know what to do because i think the lights look class on her :(

i am thinking of selling these lights as it will be too much bother to get wires changed etc and plus it is illegal

if anyone is interested in them, then you can make me an offer

thanks
