you can get LED stop and tail bulbs that fit, i had them in my 2006 Ibiza Sport. looked and worked great, until i went to use them whilst driving...
beginning my journey in the daylight, it got dark, i switched the lights on leaving a roundabout, and all the power went from the engine...some sort of safety feature due to the unknown power surge or something
it'd be solved with resistors or transistors or whatever to counter the different power used by LEDS to normal bulbs, but i couldnt be arsed so switched back to normal bulbs.
i do like LED tail lights though!!

I notice in your profile you have a diesel FR - be very careful - the diesels don't like LED rear lights - you'll get problems with the glow plug light flashing (a weird brake light warning that doesn't exist in the manual!). You can get around it if you et some resistors to bring up the resistance to that of a standard wattage lamp providing you're technically minded enough.

... not technically minded, haha!! Whats involved in adding resistors?? sounds like a good idea, are they road legal?
you'll have to find out the correct current travelling through the normal bulbs, know the difference between that and the LEDs and then gt the relevant resistor soldered in the circuit somewhere. its possible, but im not an electrician lol.
yeah theyre road legal if all you're doing is exchanging the bulbs - the brake lights are an added safety feature so "more road legal" if you like - ie brighter and come on instantly so more chance of warning to drivers behind you.
i used to have a set of FK tail lights on my S reg Polo and i loved them, the dual foglight was fun for blinding people behind me who were getting too close or whatever cos they had something like 12 LEDs in each side for the fogs, they were honestly like red headlights on the rear they lit up the road behind... lol

not sure if it is the same but my friend have took his lights apart on his saxo he told me to put them in the oven and the seal will come undone but 1 on his cracked not sure if this helps
^^^ Doesn't work not the same sealant tried this myself. I did this sucessfully with my mk 5 fiesta headlight to remove the orange indicator lens but it was different sealant.
I had no idea the LEDs caused problems in the rear lights, I bought these still sat in the garage though! Hoe come people can fit front LED and have no problems??

j.a.kelly managed to seperate his rear lights when he had a MK4. Think it was a spare set, might be worth asking him
The leon mk2 does not have led bulbs they are standard, each side has one w5w and the other is a standard 21watt indicator bulb with one element which does both sidelight and brake light. The car adjusts the voltage to make it brighter when braking.
They just appear to be led`s by their design....
