Hi Guys,

Some numpty drove into the back of my car the other day, and seems to have bent the rear slam panel slightly. Luckily the body shell itself is unharmed. I dont really want to go through the insurances, even though its his fault, is the rear slam panel an easy job to replace? The guy says he will pay for the parts, and cover my labour :D

Depends how bad it is slammed could be rammed into the chassis or the bolta to remove it could be damaged but if not to bad should be quite ways bumper foam panel lol mAke sure u check suspension and fuel lines abs breaks invade they been damages

why not get it on a JIG and get it pulled out?
or panel beaten.
replacing panel will cost more IMO and then need painting.

I class the slam panel as the back of the chassis, IE the bottom (solid) half the boot not part of the bumper. Same as the front one is what holds the Radiator in, it's not part of the bumper.

brummy is your man to talk too as the mk2 he bought had a damaged rear slam panel. he repaired it and there are pic`s in his build thread.
