I'm with those 2, you can flick it back for just a wipe then push further for the fluid

I'm guessing the OP has his stalk in the "interval wipe" position and is then pushing it to the wash bit rather than coming back to "off" then to interval wipe.

Sorry your all missing my original post.
When i push the right hand stalk back so it locks and then switches the rear wiper on for the first time it at the same time sprays the window, without pushing the stalk further into the normal position for doing this?
I presume all the rest do the same ??
If you leave the switch in the locked part yes the intermittent wiper will then function as normal.
all i want it the Car stopped from ever spraying any water when i first sw on the wiper thats all

Meppershall Beds.
sounds like yours is TOO sensitive.
Mine only sprays when I push it back against the spring.
Just a quick flick and it wipes without spraying....sure it can't be different in the ST than the hatch?

Occasionally I do it as well, can get annoying as it's a strong spray

The switch has two Staged positions ok
1st stage it locks in place = wiper on & it then goes into intermittent wiping mode ok
2nd stage you have to hold it there otherwise it returns to the wiper on setting ok
now this 2nd stage is the washer part. ok

Iam 100% sure iam using it all correctly

But no matter what i do when pushing it back even slowly to the wiper on part it still
insists on putting some water onto rear window for a second or so.

I have no control to stop this...
