hi guys, need your help again.

my rear washer is being weird. firstly it started turning with the wiper arm so i just aligned it so is sprayed onto the window as the wiper arm moved it

but now it seems to have lost pressure?? its not blocked its just squirting pathetically about an inch ahead of itself.

any ideas as to what to do? do i just need to buy the plastic jet piece that goes into the arm assembly?

your help is appreciated, thanks

It's a common problem, there are loads of guides on here, just give it a search. It's likely tour hoses will be loose

cheers... i think i'll get the garage to check it out as i read it up some more and apparently a piece seizes inside and sheers causing the washer to move with the arm, my motor assembly is still under warranty so i'll get it checked out

yeah that is a problem. you can get a repair kit for £40ish I think which has all the bits you need to repair it yourself, but if its still under warranty just get them to check it out- especially as it looks a pain to take the inside of the boot off.

one easy check as well is to see if the inside of your passenger foot well or boot is wet. that would indicate that a hose is lose in one of those two areas

check in the boot lining on the left for leaks, i had this happen on mine... and it ended up being the pipe just popped of the 'T' connection. easy fix . as for realigning the wiper arm, its a single bolt under the cover and the arm is on a spline, undone, pull off, then put back on.

Sorry to jump in but my boot hatch is leaking washer fluid through the plastic near the lock. I thought it was rain getting in til i smelled it today and saw it dripping from under the panel. My jet turns with the blade, is it not supposed to do that?

No, that means parts of the motor will have welded together inside. It's meant to shoot directly up the windscreen. You can get a repair kit for about £40

****, I thought it was the design lol. I noticed when i got the car, the plastic cover over the wiper is glued together, looks like its been taken off before and cracked. I wonder if that is anything to do with it?

As said there are plenty of reports of leaks in different areas of the route the rear washer tube takes but if it is leaking straight through into the boot from the motor then it is most likely the ridgid plastic tube in the rotating spindle has sheared. You need to fix it or stop using it or it could eventually knacker your boot central locking.

I had the same happen and being tight there was no way I was paying £30 ish for the repair kit which consists of a short plastic tube and a rubber gasket. £60 for a complete motor is better value TBH.

DIY method which so far is fine and cost me nothing.

1. Remove rear lights to help get to rear boot panel clips and carfully remove the panel.
2. Remove wiper arm
3. Remove wiper motor and disconect feed tube
4. Pull off small squirter nozzel part on end of the broken plastic tube and store safely and remove remains of the broken plastic tube.
5. Acquire a length of small dia flexible tube such as RC car fuel hose with an outside dia of no more than 5mm.
6. You may have to carefully drill through the metal spindle that has the threaded end that holds your arm on so the tube can be fed all the way through.
7. Refit motor.
8 Connect your fuel tube to the existing feed tube with a small in line connector ( I used a micro gardening watering system one I had lying around)
9. Feed fuel tube up through drilled out spindle.
10. Carfully superglue the small spray nozzel into end of fuel tube without blocking the feed holes and allow to dry.
11. Push spray nozzel back down into spindle (it should be a snug fit as you don't want it to rotate on it's own as it will now rotate with the spindle)
12. Refit internal trim, lights and wiper arm.
13. Adjust by rotating the snug fit nozzel so it lines up with slot in arm cover cap.
14. Done.

Takes about 60 mins and a little thought but it seems to work fine.
I take no responsability if you have go at this.
