I was washing the Curpa today and had lifted the wipers front and rear as usual. I heard a 'thwack' and found that the rear wiper had slapped back against the windscreen and a long spring was lying on my driveway. It looks like one end of the spring hooks around the pivot end of the wiper and the other hooks into the wiper blade cover itself. The trouble is I can't see where it hooks in - it may be that the stress caused by the spring broke a bit of plastic off somewhere. If anyone can check theirs out for me and advise what it looks like (a photo would be ace) I'd be really grateful.

It may mean a dealer job if it is broken but I'd like to avoid the hassle if it is something I can fix.....

Here you go mate, sorry about the quality but that is the best I could get with a mobile phone.

Thanks very much for that Biker - the picture tells me all I need to know :) The lug on the wiper cover must have sheared off with the stress of the spring when it was lifted so I'll have to get it booked in for a new one unfortunately. It did it all by itself as well - must have been a weakness in the plastic I suppose....

Cheers!

Do you definitely want a rear wiper (Most people do)? I thought I'd ask as some people just take it out and put a plug in the back, might be more cost effective for now

**EDIT** Actually should be covered under warranty

Exactly the same thing happened to me - I posted on here too. Mine went back to the dealer, needed a whole new wiper. Luckily mine was covered under warranty.

Hasn't happened for me, although i did nearly poke my eye out on it today after nearly walking into it when i flipped it up lol.

Drive off forwards looking out the front screen as normal, failing that use my mirrors if I have to reverse?????
