As my birthday is nearly here im going to have some spare cash, so i want to buy a whole load of detailing products, can anyone suggest a good shampoo, Clay,Polish,Wax and any other items i would need like mitts and towels. My car is silver so i want the best finish i can get for my money , im looking to spend between £40-100.

2 x Decent Wash Mitt
1 x Gritguard Bucket
1 x Normal Bucket

Sonus Drying Towels
Selection of Microfibre Towels
Applicator Pads
Buffing & Polishing Towels

Chemical Guys Citrus Wash
Sonus Green (Ultra Fine) Clay

As for polish and wax I will leave that to someone else.

Would say you will be looking at £100 as opposed to £40.
But you can build up your product library over time.

best thing to do, buy two buckets if you have not done the two bucket method already. Along with this buy the Meguiars Lambswool wash mitt

for the wax I would recommend this:

Victoria Concours Wax (but only if your car is in excellent condition)

whatever you do, avoid at all costs cheap crap like the NXT brand, or meguiars wax cleaner, because these cheaper products are $hite

I'm not going to berate the Autoglym stuff, cos i've been using it for years, with decent enough results.... but,

I've spent the best part of 5 hours this afternoon washing, drying and cleaning my lc using Meguiars 3 stage cleaning/polish and carnuba wax treatment's and all i can say is WOW..... bloody awesome finish, and probably 80% better than Autoglym.

I used to do car valeting as a job many years ago, and I've never seen such a deep shine on any car before useing this Meguiars stuff, it isn't cheap the 3 stage stuff cost's about £7-8 per bottle so a tad under £25.00 for the 3; but amazing, I'm seriously impressed with this stuff..

I'm going to stick some pic's of the finished car up on a new thread, but they really don't do it justice i'm affraid, you'd really have to see the before and after car in the flesh....

Cheers; it was hard work, but the end result is simply stunning, not used this Meguiars before so i'm suitably impressed..
