Hi. I also live in plymouth. I had mine remapped to stage 2 using revo software. This was done by matt at volkscraft in exeter. Very good service. No rolling road but happy with the cars performance. Generic map I guess. If you want it on a dyno you could try alan jerrerys who is in plymouth but when I went therenhe didnt seem to interested in vag cars. He like his jap stufff I.e scoobies. Hope this helps. P.s look out for a 54 plate red cupra r. Will more than likely be me.
Custom code in Crediton Exeter. Seems to be highly recommended for the vag range and on the forum. Will be taking mine there in the near future. £300 for stage 1 which is pretty reasonable too.
hi yea i should have said i know of Alan Jeffery engine tuner.
but to be honest i had a scoobie and took it to him many times,
and each time while trying to explain what i wanted, he would always seem in a rush to get you out.
but a rolling road would be nice, just so i can see how mine is perfoming before and after.
Generic maps appear to do the job but customs are better obviously, and my stage 1 cost 250, 50 less than the place near you, so if possible id be putting that 50 quid saved into petrol and driving to get a custom. Obviously if r--tech and badger5 who are big names in the vag world are MILES away then you may have to settle for a generic. AMD in Essex might do customs too if that's a bit closer but I'm not sure
I agree Alexis, that's why I'm swaying towards custom code. It's tried and tested and I'd rather this over a few more bhp and a chance of dangerous spiking.
