1900cc is engine strip apart, new pistons, rebore, rebuild again etc. not cheap. will deffo help spool tho. get carried away and throw in a 2ltr crank and go for a stroker.

Bill would you add 1 of INA's stroker kirs as part of your rebuild kit if you had the choise???

it would be tempting if I had it all apart yes.
fwd is the practical limit here tho, and althought a nice dollop of power and torque is possible, applying it to the tarmac is another challenge.

strokers and 400+bhp motors are in 4wd cars for road use, unless you are able to use it in a fwd car with sticky tyres, diff, and dry weather. You would get a broader power delivery which makes for a much nicer road car. Peak power with minimal powerband is just for dyno queens & bragging rights imho.

I am doing this early next year , Jabba have priced me a kit inc eurospec crank. Keeping same turbo so no more bhp but shed more torque and ever less lag( there is almost none anyway) .
I have 4wd so no problems get power down ! :)

This 2008cc kits looks like the path i may go down next year with a turbo rated at 400-430 bhp and while the heads off i'll get it ported etc .
All geared towards as little lag as poss , I plan on keeping my IHI mani so may go for an IHI/garrett hybred.......Thoughts???

Inquired about stroker kits at JBS and got this reply.....

"Yes there are a load of options for stroker kits! In the past I have seen problems with bores cracking as they have had too much material taken off for the larger piston!"

Didnt think you had to get bigger pistons when doing this , that was the point?????

Think there probably refering to clived's old tt which i believe was a 2.2 or something like that.
Like you said 0.5mm overbore and longer stroke will do the job.

I heard bout that , pistons came through the back of the block or something.

Yes they are prob talking of clives car ( they bought it off him I believe)
Mine is going 82.5 @ 8.75-1 and stroked to 92.8
I have been told this is as big as you should go on bam block, will give me 1990 ish( not sure exatly) I am letting Jabba wave there magic wand again (",).will be a monster !:D

faster spool up not that it needs it imo!

The compression in my cylinders is to low , got my rod / pistons from ebay and they are wrong , so need to change anyway so I may as well fit crank for ultimate setup !
Jabba have done an awesome deal and really happy that they are finishing my project

Sounds good mate, how much more power and torque do you hope to release?
Do you have a ported head and do you have ay issues with surge?

First of all there should be no real power gains as I'm not changing turbo, Low end torque will improve but have not figures yet, also the boost is coming in a little late now due to CR so combined with 2Ling full Boost/Torque will come in far earlier and I have no surge issues at all, The kit is Awesome and this I what I should have done from day one

do you have a ported head/cams?The fact the car has spool up issues probably helps any onset of surge, you may find that it may happen with your extra capacity and compression.
Is there any reason that why you are producing 420bhp when owens claim 475?

Ryan,Sams is the smaller turbo with a 47lb/min wheel.i've been out in this car and it spools like a ihi but with more top end grunt.the mapping on his car is excellent and a 2ltr conversion will be the icing on the cake for sure:)

I have AGU large port head, Fitting Piper cams once they are correct for VVT , The Turbo is in between the 400 and the 475 one Jabba offer 3 specs and I went for middle one. There are NO surge issues and drives lovely. But once this stage is complete it will be an animal :D
