Hi Guys!!!
1st thread of 2019!!!
2 Questions:

1st: I want to remap the ecu of my Leon FR 2.0 tdi 150hp, in stage 1 the engine can get 190/200hp without any update, but for the 2nd stage, what I need to upgrade in my car?

2nd: How can I get more power in the car? I don't know much from the 2000cc diesel engines, so I need some tips on that!

Thanks

I just found this website, and it's says that I only need to remove my DPF filter to do the stage 2...
It's reliable?

It depends, when I went to the site you suggested, there's a big popup saying it makes it illegal to drive on public roads in the EU. Which is certainly true for the UK as the MOT now checks for tampering / smoke from it. So depends really on what you want to use it for and whether not being able to get an MOT equivilent is an issue.

I'm sure in the UK if you remove the DPF it's an automatic fail no matter if the emissions are the same or if there's no smoke.

@jksoarez10; The UK’s MOT was upgraded last year and the upgraded test is the result of an EU directive imposing tougher vehicle checks and improved emissions testing. So I’d expect similar, improved emissions testing would also be in place within all EU member countries, including carefully checking DPF’s on diesel cars.

As part of the UK MOT, DPF’s are now carefully checked for evidence of removal or tampering. This involves visually inspecting the DPF canister for signs of cutting open and any new welding where the canister has been welded back up after removing its internal parts. Any evidence of tampering with the DPF is an automatic MOT fail in the UK.

The UK MOT also tests for smoke of any colour coming from the exhaust - special smoke testing equipment is used for this, which presumably can detect very low levels of smoke. I’m assuming that if the DPF has been removed, there’s a much greater chance of sooty smoke from the exhaust anyway, as there’s nothing to trap the soot particles and stopping them from exiting the exhaust tailpipe. I owned a 2002 mk4 diesel Golf that was built before the introduction of DPF’s and that was very smoky under hard acceleration, so assume the same would be true of a modern diesel with the DPF removed?

Thanks for the explanation!!!
In Portugal, the MOT didn't check visualy the DPF, so if the car makes the same smoke/emissions, we have no problem... The noise it's a problem because they also measure the db.
