I have been offered a free remap:D

However.........I'm not sure if it is the best thing to do:confused:

The remap would be by a friend who has just received their remap kit including CD of maps and all the different leads. They have remapped their BMW and are very impressed so far.

Has anyone had a remap done in this way?

Any good/bad comments on this type of remap?

Also does anybody know what the ECU number on the TDI Cupra is as I will need this so that he can locate the map on the CD?

The remaps not gonna destroy the ECU is it?

Dont they just copy your existing map onto the Laptop, then copy the new map onto the ECU?

just like flashing an eeprom???

He bought his own remap kit from ebay

i'm sensing a high quality bit of kit here! how much did he pay for it?

if you get that wrong  , thats gonna cost a lot more than a re-map in the first place would do!

I'm not knocking your mates ability, but i wouldn't be too trusting in a disc bought from ebay!

to many people on ebay making a quick buck :ban: at good people's expense!

Not arguing... just curious to what people think they'll be able to alter

Not sure the OBD tuning files allow any adjustment
tbh mork its all greek to me anyway unless its mechanical . I can only go by what ive seen being done and tbh the car i took there on sat was an 53 plate 320d so maybe they are a little diferent to do
