Remote range

Just wondering how close you have to be for the keyfob remote to lock/unlock.

My pugs worked from about 20 yards away, however with the Leon it seems to work only from about 4-5 yards. The batteries in the fob are brand new.
Is this the same for everyone?

My Ibiza, when new worked from bloody miles away - seriously about 40-50m and then this started to drop down as the battery got lower. I haven't really driven the Leon much since we bought it - my fiance's driving it all the time, but I'd imagine it would have a similar sort of range. Are you sure the battery's good?

i had the same prob with my old non flip key 2 button thingy, bought a flip key and seems to work so much better i reckon 20 yards or so with old one had to stand right near it dor it to work, maybe just with age they go down hill, or maybe not!!

My batteries are def brand new, I bought them myself!

When I eventually manage to program my filp key Ill see if its any better.

or do what they did on top gear and put it up against your head and press the button, doubled the range i think!
