Looks like that

soz my bad...i ment the one on the rad.

there are 2 on the rad and been told one is for coolant rad and other is for a/c

didnt no which one was what

correct me if im wrong

leave em both on, it's good for cooling things down ;)

im running both on mine with no air con and they both seem to work at the same time (well they have everytime i've checked)

usually the second one is driven by a belt anyway

that is on a 16v mind though

i'd leave em both on myself

then your better off getting a kenlowe fan(or similar) from demon tweeks which has a plastic cowling and an uprated all alloy rad

1 is less weight so 1 is better than 2

for the minimal weight compared to possible higher temperature i'd leave it in and wire it up

you dont fit em to keep the engine warm and an FMIC doesnt warm air up does it ;)

Sorry to bring up an old thread but cane find anything more recent. Im looking to remove my aircon and just need to find out a couple of bits.
How do i get the gas out of it and is it safe to do myself?
What shortened belt do i get when i take out the compressor unit?

I know how I've drained 2 AC systems....

but the belt you need is any 20v 1.8 non AC model (think leon/golf 20v)

Cool think i read somewhere that a polo belt will fit aswel but il go with the none turbo 20v then.

Anyone got any pictures of what needs to be removed by any chance as that'l put things alot clearer?

just take out anything connected to the silver pipes. except the bit in the bulkhead...unless you want to take the dash out
