removing air con help plz

Yeh dont want to be taking the dash apart lol

Do i need to blank any of the pipes off after or stick a resistor on the connector after?

Make sure you blank off all open pipes. air con stuff is extreme price material! safe is better than skint. and don't breathe the gas in...................... or get it too close to your face/car. the leak detection dye is bright green and gets everywhere if you make a little mistake.....................................i know...........

Is there not a way of letting the gas out slowly then?

And how many pipes do i have to blank off? i know il see when im doing it but its always better to dig in prepared lol

just go to a garage and get them to drain the gas out, as they take the gas out before filling it, at decent garages anyway then you dont need to worry about it, my aircon hasnt worked for years, think i may as well take it out. must save a fair bit of weight too

Im not going to pay for the gas to be removed il just stick a mask on and wear gloves lol

Im sure it''l be very worth while doing as it takes pressure off the crank shaft

Dont kno yet jase. I was taking the aircon off anyway as it takes weight off the crank shaft. Im sure it'l just guarantee the cooler will fit without having to trim the bumper

Right despite the rain and snow today i still got out and fully removed the aircone today. Was alot easier than i thought it would be. Done a few other bits whilst i was at it but finished for the day now so finish up 2moro

haha, that tickled me

just remove everything you see connected to the system, RAD, AC Pipes, compressor/pump and change your belt to the none AC model

i dont remember blocking up any pipes etc etc, i just removed EVERYTHING
been like that for about 8 months with 0 issues

Dave, you still got that brass thing at the back of the engine? I'm gonna look to see if i can remove it somehow.

that the bit in the bulk head?? i removed it, couple of allen key bolts i think, looking at it there must be a blanking plate that goes there to cover is all up, maybe on the none air con models, anyone with the seat parts cataloge might be able to find out though (hint)
