Sure mate, I'm away from tomorrow until the 7th so that will give you time to get the bits. Just PM me when you have them and I'll sort you out!

You're a star mate. How many clips will I need to order? I'm guessing each door card will have plenty on. I'm assuming the earlier link is the correct ones.

Buy two packs of 10, the eBay listing is for the correct ones yes.

I see you're in Sheffield? I'm in Huddersfield which is a little way away, but we'll sort something out. The process will take around 2 hours to do a proper job as I don't like to rush at the risk of breaking anything.

So today I successfully removed and soundproofed the drivers door. Unfortunately it started pissing down so couldn't do the passenger door. However I went for a drive and WOW. No rattles whatsoever from the drivers door now, road noise is significantly reduced and the sound system can be turned up to silly levels without any vibrations.

I followed advice on here and applied the 2mm stuff to the metal of the door in lots of small strips and then the foam stuff to the plastic inside of the door card absolutely everywhere, I used two sheets :p

Anyone who is wondering whether to do this or not I highly recommend giving it a go. I only broke 2 clips, very impressed :)

The rattles are my main reason for doing this. I hate rattles and want to make the most of the upgraded sound system. I was worried that fiddling would create more rattles but the more I read the more impressed I am.

Are the electrical connectors easy to get on and off and how many is there?

There are 3 electrical connectors that need removing and the cable for the door opening mechanism needs unclipping. All are easy to remove but I do recommend having another person or a stool to rest the door card on while you unclip everything as dropping the card could cause damage to the connectors. I was on my own and had to rest the card on my knee which was quite awkward. When I do the passenger door I'm going to take pictures of every step and put together a guide.

Below is a picture of my door card all foamed up :)

No problem! The guides worked well for me - I have soundproofed both front door cards and the rear wheel arches. It's much quieter now and it solved my rattle issues, I'm guessing that's why you want to remove the door cards?

Just take your time with removing the plastic covers that hide the screws - they both have two flimsy plastic clips that snap easily. I snapped one on the door handle plastic cover but the good news is that it functions fine with the one clip.

If you get stuck give me a PM as I've removed the cards a few times now to improve my soundproofing job. One last thing - have a stool or a bucket nearby to rest the doorcard on; this comes in really handy when you are unclipping the cables.

Hi mate. I'm eventually getting round to doing some soundproofing and see you did the rear wheel arches. Can you give me an idea of how and where you applied the matting if you have a minute please?

Does anyone have a rough idea this plus some extra 2mm silent coat would be enough for a door, i was thinking of buying two packs for each front doors.

I have seen people saying they used loads of the sound absorber 15 so didn’t know if there would be enough in this pack?

I need to do this to at least one of my doors but i'm a bit concerned as to whether the sound deadening material absorbs moisture, can someone advise please?
