Removing Metal Disc Guard

Is there a way to remove the guard behind the rear discs?

Mines is rattling and it's doing my box it.

That's what I've been doing. but it only stays secure for so long. I'm just using small blocks of wood to wedge it in place. Going to do that again to night. But make it a bit more secure. Hopefully get it fixed for good later on when I have more time

They are prone to corrosion and break away from the mounts. Wedging it will have to suffice for now until you can strip and remove/replace them.

Yeah. You can't get to the bolts with the disc on.

Hey buddy. Had similar problem with my 2008 FR. Removed wheel, and disc. However, it's likely you'll need to remove hub, or cut dust plate out. I ended up using large washers to hold in place...

That's what I was thinking of doing mate. but need to know how to take disc off?

Remove the wheel, remove the caliper, remove the t30 then remove the disc. There's enough room with the carrier left in place.

I had same issue but had mine replaced.

£24 for part from Seat.

As MJ has detailed, but if it's anything like mine, an hour of encouragement with leather mallet was required to dislodge the brake disc from hub after all components disconnected.
