hey man that looks real neat. I left the original grills on, but was considerin takin em off. How did ya take the old ones off. Cos they're melted on? I didnt know whether to drill em or try n melt em with a solderin iron (believe thats not a great idea though).

James its the same cubby that you have put your Alpine head unit in. Rattic has removed his factory head unit and replaced it with the new one. Was it tricky getting the old one out Rattic ? I didnt have any problems with my one but, its a MK1 so it might be a little more tricky on a MK2.

Never seen the factory headunit. Bought car preowned with a Sony CD player already installed. Only changed cos it was one with a removable face plate and the faceplate contacts were faulty and therefore not fully functional. The Sony unit was easy to remove. I have to admit to cutting my Arosa harness up though to fit the new unit. Felt like I was giving my car the 'snip'. Really didnt want to do it, but I found there wasn't a lot of space at the back of the unit for all the cables and connectors, so had to, and it was still a squeeze.

Been looking at the nice installs of front speakers on here!

I might change mine, not got a clue about speakers but my front left is vibrating, will changing them sort this or is it likley to be the door panel rattling?

Also I have an Alana head unit, will it sound OK powering new speakers without an amp?

Hey guys,
When buying new speakers etc. a quick and easy way to convert from inches to mm:

inches to mm x 25.4
mm to inches /25.4

eg 6" x 25.4 = 152.4 mm

Hope this helps :D
