Removing stains

Guys,

The unthinkable has happened...whilst driving home in my 1 day old Leon, my girlfriend's bottle of coke that was inside her handbag didn't have the lid screwed on properly and spilt on the seat! it's safe to say that NO liquids will be entering from now on.

Just after some advice on what the best method you guys have for removing such stains?!

I have a no drinks or food policy in my cars.
However, 1001 carpet cleaner, dry vacs then a fabric sealer (gtechniq 1i) sorts it nicely.

Yeah, have adopted the same policy now!
Will try and source some of that cleaner tomorrow, unless you think my local tesco might have some? Is it just standard carpet cleaner? Guessing halfords should have the fabric sealer though?

Edit: have reserved some at my local home base! Hopefully it won't set in by tomorrow!

I used the Auto glym interior foaming shampoo on some stubborn water marks. That might be worth a go before you soak it with the 1001 carpet cleaner...

This is off beat I know, but what has happened is that the caramel colouring that they add to the coke to make it brown has come out of solution as the liquid has dried. On stains I try and take a solvent approach so what would dissolve caramel colouring designed to be added to carbonated soft drink?

I would go with a bottle of diet clear lemonade and start by wetting the stain with that to mobilise the caramel colouring back into solution. I might try and do this using a wet extraction cleaner like a VAX to apply and extract the lemonade. After shifting the caramel, I would run clear water through with a little fabric cleaner or dilute carpet shampoo and then allow to dry before proofing with your proofer of choice.

I've even used it to successfully clean kiddy sick from light grey carpets in the house. Worked a treat (I fecking hate cleaning up sick!)
