Hi all.... we've just reached the one year anniversary of ownership of our car. Like many others, it has had a multitude of software glitches (and is returning to the dealership this week for its 1st service and, hopefully, some software updates to fix the SOS issue and Front Collision Assist becoming disabled.

A question for those who have already reached their one year ownership mark...... Did SEAT reach out re renewing your online services? We understand it is subscription after one year but no one has got in touch with us regarding its extension.

I never received a reminder from seat, held out until the day it expired before renewing.

Going to thier shop shows when it's about to expire and cost of renewal

You can renew it from their website or the app. Somewhere buried in your account settings.

I've currently got a Skoda with similar items, I didnt hear anything, it's all on the app and car, so you in theory can buy it through the car, I didnt bother with it, (remote unlock, horn and flash, some stuff to do with the sat nav etc)

I tried buying through the car all it did for me was show a screen telling me to visit the online shop with a computer.

I've found the online services to be pretty useless, anything it can do or tell me just saves me a tiny walk to the car.

If I had a large and remote fleet I was managing then it might be worth a couple of pounds per year but, for the individual, its a novelty that doesn't deliver anything crucial.

Traffic Alerts is the only thing I might find useful, but probably not worth the renewal fee alone.

We've queried it with our dealer. At the end of the day SEAT ought to be bringing your attention to the subscription services ending and not making their customers search for how to renew it. I wonder how much additional income they'll lose as a consequence.

I'm actually debating whether I want to renew or not.

I am really not that fussed now that I cannot remotely lock/unlock the car and turn on the heating. I'm living in a flat anyway so I can't charge at home, but at work instead.

What are the features that you cannot stay without?

I hate that manufacturers charge extra for things like this. Free traffic on the Mk3. Bit like mobile phone (and landline) contracts used to be the same price length of the contract now at least CPI increase plus another %age per year :banghead2
