replace brake light switch

Need help...
Got to replace brake light switch can't see how to gain access to the upper part of the brake pedal. Theres a cover in the way. Anyone know how to remove it?

The lower dash is held on by torq's screws.

Do you have to remove the whole lower dash section then? Is this easy?

I didnt even remove the lower dash. Makes it a bit harder, but doable nevertheless
