Replacement Remote Key - Seat Ibiza 1.4 2007

Hi all,

Just bought a 2007 ibiza 1.4 for the missus, and only cam with one key (with no remote buttons). Works fine, but we're wanting to get a remote key for her, and use existing key as spare.

I've seen some videos of people buying spare keys, and re-programming them using a combo of unlock/lock buttons. I've only seen this on a 2002 car, does anyone know if this will work on a 2007?

Can anyone else shed some light on where to get a remote key without having to go to the dealers and spend £££££?

You'll need a 434mhz two button fob - 1J0 959 753 CT

You'll them need to cut the key and program to the car using VCDS with the SKC.

Thanks for that. Got quoted £150 all in for someone to come out and cut/program key there and then. bit of a kick in the nuts...

I'm happy to get a fob with blank blade and get it cut, but i've heard horror stories of people messing up their ECUs when trying to reprogram the keys....

has anyone done this before? Is it easily done, or should I take it on the chin and get a pro out?

You won't mess up the ECU as you program the keys to the cluster. If you are unsure, I would get a pro
