Hi guys! I have a misfire on cylinder 2 and I've been instructed by my mechanic that it can only be the fuel injector and it's not the coil pack, plugs and there is loads of compression in the cylinder!

They cost £120 each and he said to change them all as the 3rd cylinder has a complete different injector on (brown instead of purple) he said I can find a whole fuel rail with the injectors on from eBay or the breakers and install that to see of it fixes the problem

I have ordered a fuel rail from eBay for £35 now I've just got to get it fitted!

How difficult is this to do? If anyone could give me a little guide that would be brilliant!

Servicing injection system
Safety precautions
Warning!
Fuel system is under pressure! Before opening the system place a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection.
To prevent injuries to persons and/or damage to the fuel injection and ignition system, the following must be observed:

◆ For safety reasons the fuse No. 28 must be removed from fuse holder before opening fuel system, otherwise the fuel pump can be activated by door contact switch.
◆ Do not touch or disconnect ignition wiring when the engine is running or being turned at starter speed.
◆ The ignition must be switched off before connecting or disconnecting injection or ignition system wiring or tester cables.
Warning!
When performing repair work, especially due to the confined conditions in the engine well, pay attention to the following:
◆ Route all types of lines (e.g. for fuel, hydraulics, activated charcoal canister system, coolant, refrigerant, brake fluid and vacuum) as well as electrical wiring so that the original positions are restored.
◆ Ensure sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components
Observe following if test and measuring instruments are required during a road test:

◆ Test and measuring instruments must be secured to rear seat and operated by an assistant from this location.
If test and measuring instruments are operated from front passenger's seat and the vehicle is involved in an accident, there is a possibility that the person sitting in this seat may receive serious injuries when the airbag is triggered.

◆ If the engine is to be turned at starter speed, without starting:
‒ → Pull all 4-pin connectors off ignition coils-arrows-

‒ → Remove fuse 32.
Note:

Removing fuse 32 interrupts the voltage supply to the injectors.

It's okay that's sure to help me out! I've looked at a few videos on YouTube and although they're on other cars it's seems as though it's just a couple of bolts then the fuel rail comes right out! Then I'll take my new one with the injectors already on and put it straight in and put the bolts back on!

I've been told that if this doesn't fix my misfire then I should just cut my losses and get another car! So fingers crossed! Thanks for your help!
