Replacing Mirrors

Some Tw@t in a horsebox lorry decided to modify my beezer today. reversed round and took my driver side wing mirror clean off and left it hangin with the wires.
Question time:
I've got a new set of M3 Mirrors Lying in my garage doing nowt and was going to put them on temporarily to avoid having loads of black tape sticking everywhere. this is just until i can afford to do the small driver side mirror modification. Will there be any implications to disconnecting the external temp sensor on the pass side wing mirror. its fooked anyway im sure.

But i'd sell the m3's and get a replacement, wouldnt fit the m3's

M3 Mirrors aren't what i would pick for the car either m8. even if i sold em, i would be lucky to get 30 quid for them and at the moment, im strapped for cash as i've just bought the car (only had it 3 weeks). the m3's were bought for my last car (MG ZR) which i wasn't planning on getting rid of but the head gasket went and my new beezer turned up at a local garage on the same weekend, so --> Deal done!
Im not into tacky, thats why i was gonna wait till i could afford the LHD small mirror for the driverside and just use the M3s to get by. they may not look great on the car but they've got to be better than lots of black tape sticking everywhere.
