Resonance From the Boot

Guys, I have a really annoying resonance or rattle from the boot...

under the plastic cover on the boot the central locking electrics sit on a metal piece of the boot...

it Vibrates at different revs and its BLOODY annoying.... have tied a cable tie round it and put tape rond it to no avail!

Anyone else had the same problem or know how to fix it!

I get a similar rattle from under that panel, it does my fu****g head in too!!

I have taken the panel off and cant seem to get it sorted though.

Mine does it when i go over bumpy road, or hit bumps, or anything really

As above, if anybody knows what it is and how to sort it i would be happy too!

bloody annoying isn't it!

its definetly the box that sits on a metal part from the boot, if you tap it hard it reverborates with the same noise (like the noise of a ruler half on a desk and half not)

Ive tried everything to get rid of it and just don't know what else to try....need to stiffen it really!

Yes exactly that, you tap the plastic box and there's that noise, really really annoying on a long drive. Lets hope someone knows how its sorted!

ive got the same problem too, altho its even more annoying when you have no rear seats to block the noise.

only thing i can think, is add weight to that piece of metal with the leccy box sitting on it.... or pu some sponge between that and the metal of the boot lid?

I have this to, I cant even get the panel off though to see what it is?

Expanding foam perhaps?

Can anyone help me get the panel off? If I could do that I reckon I could solve it. I almost got rid of every rattle in my peugeot so thats saying something lol

well....theres 3 screw to take out.... 1 in the handle and two behind the light bulb flaps....

then u just have to PULL like made....jsut yank it off...... its a right nitemare just it will come eventually.....

expanding foam won't work, too bigger gap.... its just like the hollow of the boot...

not sure if its from the boot but sound like it the other day i tryed to take the cover off to get at the rear washer jet pipe as i think its come off as no water coming from jet. but i couldnt get the bloody case off how the hell do you do it i took all the screws out but i dont want to force it and bust the clips. anyway since then i get a kind of banging noise at certain times of reving normally low revs and low gear, just when the car normally starts to vibrate a little. im gonna have another look tomorrow (well after i sort the stupid ****ing clutch pedal out where the welds have bust and the white plastic clip is in bits.) wish me luck. what a stupid ****ing design that is

yup....ive done some work on it...

i popped open the central locking plastic section....in it is a motor and a cog....i then wd40'ed it and put it backtogether agani......didn't make much difference...

next i tried to put a small/normal sponge between the boot skin and the piece of metal with the CL box on it....it made quite a big difference but still a few problems........

So ive been outt o tesco and bought a MASSIVE sponge...the really big rectangle ones....and i am yet to fit that, but mi confident that will fix it!

What do you think?

yeah got this big one from Tesco!

will let you know tomorrow and fit it...prob take a few weeks for testing tbh as don't often drive the car tbh!
