They do look pretty cool, might actually pick up a set of 120 dials when i get some spare cash floating around.

nah i could be talking crap, but in my old corsa, i put GSI dials in and it worked fine, and they went to 140, whereas the old dials went to 120

they were gearbox driven though, mechanical not electrical

All you're doing is changing over the numbers on the face of the dial. It won't auto correct for the new dials, don't be silly lol.

If you put thm on backwards or upside down will the needle spin round to meet it!?

If you change the whole clock set then it SHOULD compensate.

How would you go about changing the clock set then? Easy job, or not? What about the Rev counter, notice its slightly less, not too bothered though. Usually when you hear the engine screaming its telling you to change gear

If you're changing the clock set over from the same model vehicle it should be pish. Just remove the steering wheel, (may need to get some stereo type removal hooks/ends of a coathanger to pop down the sides) pull the clocks out as far as you can, waggle you're hand behind and remove all cables and clips (check the one you have in your hand to work out where they are).

Pull the thing free and swap for the other one!!

One thing I wanted to know though. On these later model cars where the mileage is digital, is this contained in the clockset or on the ECU? IE, if you swap the clocks over will the mileage be the same on the previous car?

Oh... I'm not looking at clocking my car either, don't think there are many clocks that are less than 50k out there!!

was just wondering thats all!

Bump. Would anyone be able to scan the 16v cupra dials, or have a spare set? I would do it, however i live on an island and my car is on the mainland. I have spoken to a few people and need to send a template for a quote.
