Apologies if its been discussed before but at last Revo have launched their map for the FR TDI 170bhp.

When I was in my local garage today, who are a Revo dealer, I happened to mention if software was available for the FR TDI yet as it has been some time coming - to my surprise they said it had come out only last week.

Performance figures seem pretty impressive 215bhp and 325lb ft torque. - Interestingly they have their stock Passat at 190bhp std

Has anyone with a FR TDI been tempted to get theirs done as I wouldn't mind feedback with findings especially with the DPF issues before contemplating it myself. - Mind you after an Ibiza TDi gave me a good run today I might be tempted anyway!

From talking to Kev since they mapped their Passat months ago, they've not had any DPF issues with it.

that said, I'm pretty sure it's been driven in the manner that is recomended for rejuvenation (sp) of the DPF a fair bit ;)

Think revo will need to look at their prices soon. Way too expensive. There are now too many good quality competitors doing the same thing at vastly lower prices.

How many of the competitors ran a trial car to prove out the code?
How many of the competitors offer switching?

I'm guessing none, to both.

Take your points on board.

I have had three SEATS. On my first I had APR which was great. On my second which was a 2.0 tdi I had Revo which caused my car problems which may or may not have also shown with other tuners. My third car (present) has an Angel map and once again I am delighted. Revo i think is a good product although not in my case but the cost is so prohibitive in comparison to others.

Each to their own though.

Mine was £300 from P-Torque who tested the map on the track, as for switching - why would you want to pay all that money and switch back? The dealer will find out if they need to. As far as the cost is concerned - isnt this why we are driving Seats and not Golfs - the same if not better deal for less money

How true why would you want to switch, if you want to get more power you want it ALL the time!! and has for dealerships I have never had any problems with chipped car's - now on my seventh one. ....................

P Torque and Upsolute both have trial cars in Europe prior to general public release and Upsolute offer switching for some types.

Really? I thought P-Torque was based in Wolverhampton.

I don't know much about upsolute these days, are they offering switching on the FR? or just the old stuff
