revo remap & now engine light!!

Hi all! Just had a revo remap on sat, amazing but got in car tonight & the engine management light has come on!! not buzzin at all! i`ll be ringing revo first thing, but any thoughts why? cheers.

I had the same problem when I first got mine done and the dealer didn't up load the right up to date version of the software when I went back in they sorted it out. Try finding out which version they put on your car then ring Revo and ask which is the latest version.

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? Did you get Stage 1 map only?
It will probably be a cell light for your emissions. It will either need to be mapped out (Stage2) or a spacer put on the post cat lambda sensor. Common issue and nowt to worry about depending on your answers to the first two questions

Hi mate! Was just a stage 1 map, everything else standard

In that case as Simon said. Call up Revo unless you have access to VCDS and can scan for the exact fault code. Could be unrelated but unlikely. Prob best to return to Revo dealer anyway.

If it drives the same as when the map was installed then you should be fine. It did it with mine when I rang Revo the next day they told me which was the up to date version and I phoned the dealer and ask if that's what they had so I went back in to get it re flashed.

I drove mine with the light on and it was fine as long as you still have the power there then you will be ok till you take it back in.

I'm putting my money on a misfire. The engine can take time to settle in with a map and I have heard of this problem a lot. Nothing to worry about in my opinion. New spark plugs or coil worst case

I don't think it's going to be the MAP at fault

Because the car is now running more power, more boost, more torque...something will go eventually

Basic checks as mentioned before, Misfires (Colder spark plugs, Worst case, Coil Pack replacement)

Other thing is PCV however I don't think it would cause ECU light to come up (from experience that is)

Lastly could be the cheapest but the tuner at fault, the settings are too high for your car!?

was your car set up and logged when the map was put on?
or did the dealer just upload test drive and say its ok?

Hi all, went back to revo the next day after my issue!! It was sorted straight away! Apparently it was a error on the map!! He put new software on & its been awesome!!!!
