Fooking hell just watched the other vids and this car really does look quick. About 230bhp per ton+ dsg would make for a stupidly quick car. Where abouts are you based mate, we have got to meet up and have a play

Let us also know how you get on with the box mate. I think if ever the DSG is gonna get tested properly on a map you are the guy to do it considering you do track days. Therefore the box is really getting put through it's paces, so please mate, keep us updated on how she fares.

Awesome car and some great driving skill. Do you recon it would do the same to a stage 2 mk2 cupra on the track also. The 1.4 engine blows the 1.8t away big time. can't wait to see what will happen if you go stage 2.

Thanks for your comments, I had no way of knowing if the car would work round a track until I was there, took a few laps to sort when to knock down through the gears, the car did the upshifts itself at 7,200rpm. No warning lights, the only problem was brake temperature which I hope I can sort with lots of cooling. I did get passed once (i think) a bike engined Caterham which weighed about the same as a 1st class stamp! Top speed was 122mph going into Quarry in 5th gear. Best lap was 1min 26sec - if you spend an extra £85,000 on an Audi R8 V10 it will go 10.5 sec a lap quicker, but I've got more luggage space and better MPG!

Worth remembering, when 'AUTOCAR' mag tested the Cupra in Oct 2009 they said "the gearbox simply doesn't work on track", and they gave it 3 star out of 5 for performance and the same score for handling - what a bunch of tw*ts:p

The REVO remap is the best money i've spent on it so far, like turning the standard car up to 11 ! In the past its usually taken me a couple of years to get a new car the way I like it, so this project has only just begun, there's a 13 sec 1/4 mile in that car somewhere;)

very impressive, its powering down those straights!!

How did you get on with the ESP? Is there anyway to get it all the way off? Did you find the XDS helped?

My experience so far suggests the ESP/Traction control should not be switch 'off', as the clutches can't cope with gearchanges while the tyres are spinning. As for the virtual LSD, I thing that's one reason why I had problems with the brake temp as they are used to control wheel slip; the traction warning light was flashing out of all the slower corners as it struggled to get the power to the tarmac.

DAMN! that is sweeeet! i wanna do this! haha! guessing you bought your car outright? haha as i cant see you keeping a warranty ;) :D loved watchin it wizz past all other cars there!

So how much power is your car running?

Hey man, I was at castle combe and seen you going around, found this by pure chance through google haha. Your car was really nice out there, I couldnt find it on display though! You got a project thread up or could you post some pics of it along with the mod list?

Cheers, Stuart.

OMG that is quality fella, cant wait to get mine this week now

Love the videos... very jealous of how good the cupra looks.
