I know it's probably been done a 100 times but I see that all of these map to the same figure so I'm guessing apart from a factory tweek they are all exactly the same out of the box ? So when you have a revo stage one map they efectavly become the same car unless you have the updated Brembo brakes or muffler delete ?

Yes, they are the same engine.

When I did the REVO development on the 280, the OEM file they took off the car was just a Golf R file.

So the Mk7 Golf R 297bhp and 7.5 307bhp are exactly the same engine wise but just a bit of marketing ?

They have different files on them, just like the 280,290,300,310 but they are all the same engine.

Exactly the same as the facelift MK2 Leon Cupra 240 and MK2 Leon Cupra R 265, both mapped the same.

Ok cheers , how did they manage to get an extra 10bhp to the 290 but the torque is exactly the same ?
Torque band doesn’t drop till higher up the Rev range or doesn’t drop as much.

Edit - it’s a bit of an over simplistic explanation, but the more torque, the steeper the power band. But if the torque level is flatter for longer, the peak torque may not increase but the power can.
