hi, what sort of gains would i get using a water/meth kit with the stock ko3s? the car is currently making 218bhp and 270ft lbs, im mapped on a revo stage 2 but seeing what sort of gains people have had with these with a custom map or setup with an sps controller allowing for more timing with data logging etc. i realise they allow for more advanced timing but wondered whether its worth it for the money or just go for a hybrid ko3s which is a guaranteed 260bhp or potentially more. what are your views or anyone who have used this with the stock turbo with a similar setup to me. Many thanks

You can squeeze more out of your engine on the stock turbo with a better map.

What other mods have you got?

hi thanks for the reply, its running:

Forge FMIC
Forge TIP
Forge 007P
Jetex Cone filter
Full Miltek Exhaust (Turbo back decat)
4 Bar Fuel Pressure Regulator
Revo Stage 2 Software

Maybe a few other things but i cant remember off the top of my head, im thinking a WMI setup and custom map might make some more power, im sure it will make more than 218bhp with a good map and WMI. do you think its worth getting a revo sps controller to fine tune things or go for a totally custom map? Thanks

Having the revo map setting up on the rollers with the sps switch would see you another 20-25hp I woulda thought? I'm guessing it just got a stage 2 map flashed onto it? That's the reason I didn't go revo on mine, they don't seem too great on these, whereas they seem class on the 2.0 ko4 cars.

im leaning towards a custom remap, im sure i must be able to sqeeze some more power out of the ko3s :) yes its just got a stage 2 flashed onto it, it does go well but just thinking for a future upgrade. can you recommend anyone for a custom remap? jabba or someone maybe?

custom code ;)

custom code ;)

sorry if this is a stupid question but i take it thats not a generic ecu flash its setup on the rollers? hence the name "custom" code? lol

do you know of any dealers in the south that would map mine with WMI injection or have had good results? what sort of max power does the ko3s usually make?

Custom code are another, like revo. I had a custom code on my tdi fr, didn't make as good figures as others!

I'd recommend who did mine but he's only up here in north of england I think :( I know a lad from south east who mailed his whole ecu to him to have it flashed on mind?

thanks for the info lads, badger 5 is in Gloucester so not too far. I contacted bill and he advised to get it on the dyno again and see what its doing, then maybe go down the revo SPS route instead of another map

I've never used him personally, but he seems very knowledgeable. Definitely worth getting a rolling road session with him. And a lot cheaper than another map, that may or may not be better than what you have now
