I don't think your a REVO hater, but you do need to clarify your argument, simply stating REVO Stg2+ or any other modification for that matter kills clutches is a wide remit when there are other factors to consider as already outlined.

REVO are big and ugly enough to defend themselves without our help. :) I'm just sharing my opinion, it wouldn't be much of discussion if you made your opinions heard and people were afraid to challenge them.

Works both ways. :)

I am wondering how many times you have contradicted yourself on this thread now.

With all your experience on tuning, knowhow and ability to teach people on the laws of Physics, I would have thought you do not need to come on here and ask people this....

....and when someone does remind you that Revo Stage 2+ does not kill clutches, you choose to ignore it and still go off on one

My computer is fine by the way ;)

Mate if you want to live in denial then that’s fine and if you want to be in the "Don’t say anything bad about REVO or I’ll slate you club" that’s also fine. But facts are facts at the end of the day and there is no denying that Stage 2+ kills your clutch!!!

To the OP. Sorry for taking it so far off topic.

Interesting and amusing read. Just to chuck my two pennith in. My car is running approx 297bhp / 300lb torque (18k on 57 plate), with a Bluefin map. My clutch has just started to slip, and to be honest it's more than likely to be how I've been driving her. Leaving her in 5th / 6th gear and low speeds 40 / 50 mph (which I do to get better mpg), this has probably been more detrimental to the clutch than the map, as she rarely gets a thrapesing.

Dragging up Revo, Monster Motorsport are running around 350bhp and are still on the standard clutch!

As already has been discussed, it your making the decision to mod your car standard parts are going to require replacing sooner than later, but alot of time it's the luck of the draw when these things need attention.

Any reputable tuning firm should discuss what they can offer / what you want from your car and benefits and pitfalls.

First rev increase looked more like wheelspin as you had a wee disco going on your dash ;). Second one may have been slip. Either way, you are mechanically harsh revving a cold engine like that :p

Wow been away a couple of days and my thread has been highjacked lol

Al it was on the journey home from work and in this cold weather I don't have enough time to warm the car up as im home before it is! Trust me she is normally driven like that until the engine is nice and warm. :)

Guys need some more info! What clutch would you recommend getting for my Cupra, should I go for a standard or performance clutch and what prices am I expected to be paying either. I believe I don't need a flywheel, just the clutch and bearing. Any ideas??

Most garages / motorfactors will only uphold a warranty claim if both are supplied. Plus as it's been taken apart, might as well as change both. That's what I'm going to do.

Price wise, for a OEM complete clutch kit for around £500 inc vat, then around £150.00 to have it fitted.
Sachs uprated, around £1000.00!

Would the Sachs be okay with the OEM flywheel? I'm not to concerned about the warranty as I believe Sachs clutch's hold up pretty well with modded cars so should be okay.

And which is better Sachs or Helix? and whats the price difference between the two?

A very interesting read! lol

I'd still say let the car warm up, its only another 5 mins to your journey. You'll need more than just a new clutch soon if ya keep blasting it when cold lol
