revs when chaging gear

misses says that her car revs up a little when changing gears.

amy body any ideas ?

Could be the clutch pedal switch packed up, mine has and it sounds like the engine revs 'hang a little' when I change gear.

Apparently the clutch pedal switch is supposed to cut the fueling/revs during gear changes as well as work with Cruise when fitted.

Here's a quote from Audiworld forum:

per the Bentley manual, the function of the Clutch Pedal Position switch (aka Clutch Vacuum Vent Valve Switch):

This signal is used to avoid RPM over-oscillation and load change impacts when changing gears and is also used for the cruise control system.

my mum always revs when changing gear and also when setting off in 1st - it aint no clutch switch tho i tell ya!! lol

found switch easy didn't have to take any of underdash out.. switch is stuck in so order a new one £10.47 + vat will fit tomo

no m8 i didnt but the switch was just pushed in and was very stiff to pull out so ordered new one
