revving like mad!!!!

This may have been covered but mines a little different .
Got home last nite turned off all was fine, started it this morning and its revving upto 5000!! Epc LIGHT is on as well, took the inlet pipe off and the flap is wide open, when I turn on the ignition its whining and cliing. t take it its trying to close. Any help please?? Thank you all.

Yeah I tried it again and now there's no response when I put my foot down just idling normally then the 2nd time revs and stays at 5000!! Could I just clean the pedel and take apart the tb??

You might find a wire loose/not fitting right at the pedal maybe?

Never taken a tb apart.

Checked the wiring to it? Have heard of it coming loose in the plug.

Got the pedal off mate started the car and idled lovely connected it again gave the connector a tap and it reved its pants off ! Gone take it apart tonite n av a peek, I pray its what you said and not the ecu!!

Anyone have vag-com around taunton/langport/chard?? Many beers !) I only have vcds lite, and cant reset throttle, thanks peeps.

Hoping somebody could make anything from this!! Lambda readings and stuff like that, The only fault code im getting is, "accelerator pedal signal to high" many thanks, Liam.

Give me ya money Lee new pedal on and no difference, Code G185 throttle postition sensor to high, i give up im just gonna burn it now!!!!!

100% all them pins in the loom are in the pedal connector properly?

ill av a peek in the morning bud, so should i take the fuse box out, or just follow the wires up from the pedal??

No its the connector that fits to the pedal one of the pins can and does come loose

Well i've checked um and they seem fine, my lambda reading are at a minus like -25 is that right?? could anyone tell me where they connect to from the exhaust?? Also my other half has Gold membership with the AA, could i idle it down the road ring the AA and get it taken to my mate's garage?? I have a volt meter, if i disconnect the throttle body plug and put the meter on it then press the pedal, should/would i get a reading/signal?? thanks peeps, any more info on this problem would be a life saver.
