My LCR is fwd and costs me lots as it is... OK it's only fwd but still gets through tyres fast enough without 4wd making it worse thank you very much!

VW would have never been able to sell large numbers of the R32 if there'd been a 4wd version of the LCR so it makes sence that there was never going to be a UK version IMO!

Still keen to see some pics though ;)

or the golf 4-motion, and how many S3's would audi have sold if SEAT uk sold the better looking cupra4?

Come weres the pic iv just sat and read the whole thread!iv thort of converting my littel beast with all the 4motion running gear!karnt find any right offs tho so i will have 2 keep dreaming

rich.h44 if ur post had been on here 1month ago i could of supplied you with all 4motion running gear but without the engine

Your jokeing!im gutted, that would have been a grate help!think im gona just chuck a fwd 1.8t in!will a normal fwd 1.8t mate up 2 the 4motion running gear?i may do it later in a yr or 2

you will need a gearbox from a TT or S3 but the 4WD system will mate up to the 1.8T................. after you've done all the hard work fitting it to the car!

surely the floor will be the same in a cupra fwd as in a 4x4 so just a case of stripping parts n putting different ones in?

here we go again!! if you search then you'll see it has been asked before, once or twice ;) if memory serves i seem to remember that the transmission tunnel is different and there is quite a bit of work with the rear subframe assembly. take a look under your car then take a look under the back of a 4WD golf/S3/TT

how come? i build nissans, and the floors are the same no matter that the drivetrain is

in an nutshell from the handbrake backwards all the floor/chassis and inner wings on the Cupra4 is different even the rear panel itself

nothing that couldnt be drilled and spot welded in mind you but not a nice bolt in job for sure

That was my main consern 2 transmition tunnel and another reason i wanted i right off,so that i had every thing i needed includeing floor plan!but i never had it set in stone and only thouhgt about it!i should have put a thread up!

i think there was a thread on vortex or similar where somebody swopped the rear floors , huge effort , spot welded as said. pity its not an easy job :(

Whats not easy?spot welding?or puting the floor in?

all of it.... you havnt seen my toolbox.. swiss army knife and a set of mole grips:(

thats not mentioning my lack of actual metal craft skills.

following the thread it was very labour intensive and costly.

Chears gona have a look!so long as u get the messurements right your fine!and spot welding is easy!i had 2 to do a full front end, rear quater and sill on my mini!
