I thought it was about time I posted some up to date pics of my Leon Cupra 2.0 TFSI.

I owned the car for just over a year and I'm enjoying every minute of driving it.

The car has been freshly clay bar'd and polished using Meguiars products:-

any issues running 235's or all smooth sailing?

Not issues to report so far. I doubt there will be any after doing my intial research of other members who have them.

There's alot more grip/traction with the new tyres on, although this could just be down to the Toyo's being more grippy in the wet than the Pirelli's that were originally on the car.

Winter wheels on....

I decided to put my 19" BBS CK's away for the winter and return the original 18" Ronal Orions back onto my Cupra.

First thing I had to do was replace the front two tyres. I decided the give the Falken 452's a try and overall they are pretty good, although they seem to give a harsher ride than the Toyo T1R's that are on my BBS.

Had a bit of a Saga yesterday when putting the wheels on through. The muppets at Kwik Fit had put one of the directional tyres the wrong way round. Today after driving the car on a dual carriage way at speed the steering wheel gives you a vibro massage and white finger!! They mustn't have balanced one or both of them correctly. So that's going to be another trip tomorrow. Third time lucky!!

Has anyone else with after market wheels put there winter wheels on?

BBS are one of the best looking and quality wheel I have ever had. I highly recomend them, although they are not cheap.

I've only had my OEM ones back on a day and I missed the CK's already. The 19's sure make the care looker a lot better than the originals.

Bring on the spring, its only four months away.....

Don't understand why you didn't fit winter tyres when you have two set of wheels. My CKs hibernate too and the difference is profound.

Never really felt that I've needed true winter tyres as the weather is not that extreme in the North here. If I lived somewhere like Norway or Denmark then yes I would consider them.

That's a common misunderstanding of what winter tyres are for, but fair enough.

if you lived in denmark/norway then you would have to put winter tyres on to stay legal. How is the ride now compared to the ride with the 19"s i'm tempted to go for them but think a set of lightweight 18"s is the way to go.

I driven all sorts of cars over the last 16 years and never ever thought about winter tyres or the need for them. One of my previous car was a E46 330d and even that was O.K. in the winter with all season tyres.

I suppose if we had a really bad winter then yes it would make a difference.

True, I never thought about the legal aspect in those countries. Anyway the ride with 18's is actually worse than the 19's. I could be down to the fact that the Falkens 452's don't ride as smooth as the Toyo T1's that I have on the CK's.

I nearly opted for Forged alloys, although a bottled it and went for 19's which worked out about the same price as the 18" forged ones.

Off the top of my head they were the Rays wheels which had a tint of Blue in them and are used by thr WTCC by Seat. Rays are most commonly used on the Japanese marques, although I've seen soom pics of some of there wheels and the MKV Golfs and they do look stunning.

Hi Ricky, I've just bought an FR550 but I'm looking at buying some nicer/bigger wheels but I wondered if you can tell me how wide your wheels are and what offsets please? Thanks. PS Nice car mate

Wheels are 19" x 8" with ET44 offset. I may be selling my Cupra at Xmas time for an Audi A4 B8 2.0T Quattro.

Enjoy the FR.
