Can anyone help? Im purchasing a RNS310 online to replace/upgrade my current one. The seller selling me the new radio now tells me they tried to get code but cant now. They took it to SEAT to get plugged in by the mechanics but SEAT cant get code unless a fault is showing apparently. The seller was still charged apparently. He was also told by SEAT that my car may accept the radio anyway ( 50% chance) . The RNS 310 (original SEAT from 2010 FR) cost me £240 but technically without code now!

Should I still take it? Any thoughts?

Cheers

The only people except for Seat who can decode an RNS 310 unit is Les Evans & Sons in Sheffield. Les Evans is the official Blaupunkt Service agent for the UK and has invested heavily in the Martec decoding software.

If you cannot get it done by a Seat dealer then give a Les a call. When he did one for me a couple of weeks ago he turned it around within 24 hours. Cost will be about £45-£50 including delivery back to yourself

Rich, if you need help finding the new V4 mapping software drop me a Private message. I'm running all the new V4 maps and fully downloaded onto an SD card.

Hi rich. I sold my old unit to a friend and we had to go get it recoded at our local dealership. The unit is coded to the car it comes in, its basically a security feature, so you may well need the seller to help out here. I had to go with my mate and confirm d sold it to him. We managed to blag this for free, but then we both have a very good relationship with our dealership.

Andy ive got V4 but on a CD

Do i just put a SD Card in the RNS and then go into menu's and copy maps to SD?

Andrew it just brings a menu up in the nac screen as soon as it sees an SD card installed.

You can get the whole mapping of Europe on an 8GB card, ideally though use a 16gb, I got a class 10 Sandisc for £8.95 delivered

PM me if you need any info on maps

Rich, what the dealer said about not being able to get the code is b0llocks. They just need the code or serial number on the side of the unit itself, they enter this into their system and it gives them a code within seconds.

I was in the same predicament as you. I bought this radio from a member on here without a code, took it to my dealer and they sourced me a code in 5 minutes.

Try taking it to another dealer.

Took car and radio to Emmergreen Garage in Reading. Fantastic bunch. Always looked after me. Did some warranty work and decoded the radio for free with no problems whatsoever. All done in couple of hours.
RNS 310 is a fantastic bit of kit and especially like the quality of the Blaupunkt sound system
