The plan is that once I've got things back up and running - to start saving towards a proper BT conversion, something like a GT2871R. So everything I'm doing just now is with that in mind.
OK got lots done today - the rods are in! 
First things I did was to clean the deck of the block then hone/deglaze the bores with the FlexHone tool, easy enough job. I also cleaned up the crowns of the pistons to get all the old carbon deposits off.
Freshly honed bores:
Clean piston crown, also with new rings and bearings fitted (I cleaned up the ring grooves too):
All pistons and rods back in and torqued up:
ARP head studs and new head gasket fitted:
Tomorrow I will get the new oil pump and baffled sump fitted. There will be a delay in getting the timing belt on as I decided to go for a Kevlar belt from INA, so I'll have to wait for that to arrive. Plenty of other small things I can do in the meantime.
I have sold my TIG-ART exhaust manifold and have the new JBS manifold arriving any day now.

So tomorrow I fit the baffled sump ... only problem is I don't know which one to fit? I have the INA and the Backdraft baffled sumps here - one I will fit and one I will sell, but which one to fit, each have their own merits?
The Backdraft one is a modified OE pan so that means OE fitment, decent baffles, reinforced skid plate but rubber trap doors (but BDM say they've had zero issues with them). The INA one is an awesome design, full basket around the pickup pipe and larger oil capacity but non-OE fitment, no skid plate, different oil return fitting, doesn't bolt to the gearbox.

I've got a seat sport one with rubber baffles and haven't had any issues with it, mine has a skid plate and has a nice scrap on it from something and i'm thiniking it saved my sump from having a massive hole in it, so backdraft's one gets my vote!

I sent them. you may not have to do it to your one it seems that it varies from enging code some have to do it some dont.
Got them thanks, doesn't look like much work, just a slight trim off one edge. I'll size it up tomorrow.
yeah its only 5min work and they are a nice pan and wont crack like a cast ali oil pan
OK so after checking out both baffled sumps and test fitting them, I decided to go for the Backdraft sump. So after fitting the windage tray and new oil pump, I fitted the Backdraft baffled sump (using new bolts and sealant), then reconnected the oil return pipe. The bottom end is finished now, just the head and exhaust manifold to get back on then the timing belt etc. and we're done!

Does it have the oil level sensor on it rob?
