Has anyone considered smoothing/shaving them? Apart from making the roofrack mounts more pleasing to the eye, what else do they actually do?

If memory serves (its rainy out, and im still in bed...) it should be possible to blend them out without altering the line of the window seals.

I might have a word with the bodyshop when i have my door rub strips removed...
