Rules & Guidelines for the use of the For Sale section.

IMPORTANT NOTES: READ THE RULES BELOW CAREFULLY

NOTE: THE FOR SALE SECTION IS THE ONLY PLACE ON THE FORUM YOU CAN PLACE CLASSIFIEDS.
POST THEM ELSEWHERE ON THE FORUM AND THEY WILL BE REMOVED.

1) Only the Advertiser can reply to their post

2) The advert will be removed from the website after 45 days. This includes all attachments & information.

3) Neither SEATCupra.net, nor any member of the Team can take any responsibility for the adverts placed.

4) Buyer Beware. Always ascertain a level of confidence with the advertiser before parting with your money. The last thing that we want is for someone to get ripped off. (see Code of Conduct below)

5) Only those who have been members of SCN for at least 15 days and have amassed at least 15 posts can post for sale adverts.

6) All adverts are subject to 'moderator approval' before being viewed publicly. If they don't comply with the rules, they will be removed.

7) If your advert is not approved that does not give you an excuse to be abusive to the moderator. Be warned that you risk being banned from the forum for abusive behaviour.

8) Our code of conduct must be respected - See below.

HOW TO PLACE AN ADVERT ON SCN

There are some basic rules that must be followed but the following is of most importance to an advert being approved.

ITEM - A clear forum title explaining what the advert is for.

DESCRIPTION - A simple concise description of what the item(s) are and their condition.

PRICE - A clearly marked price is important

CONTACT INFO - Phone number or Email Address or both.

(if available)

RULES THAT MUST BE FOLLOWED IF YOUR ADVERT IS TO BE APPROVED!

1) Everything has a price, or at the worst an “offers around £xxxx”.

'NO PRICE, NO ADVERT' It will be removed.

If you have several items available or a breaker to strip which seems to becoming a common occurence, keep the list simple and either list a few items/prices to start or add a rough guide price for the whole car and leave comment ##more parts available## and add to the list as required.

2) NO COMMERCIAL ADVERTS, – Please don't use SEATCupra.net as a springboard for your latest business opportunity. SCN Sponsors and SEAT dealers are the only exceptions and have their own sections to do this.

If you want to offer the members your product, please email one of the Administrators – a list of whom can be found here.

3) Illegal items such as pirate/copied music and/or software is not permitted.

4) No selling of live animals, this is not a pet shop!

5) You 'MUST' include an email address and/or phone number.

We do not support the use of SCN's PM (Private messaging system) as a means of contact. The classifieds should be a private agreement between seller and buyer and proper contact details should be shared.

6) NO EBAY LINKS -This now includes and is not restricted to Pistonheads, Autotrader or any other third party adverts.
We're all capable of trawling other sites.

Example Advert

An important tip would be to copy and paste your advert into Notepad (word).
If for any reason you forget to put something in your advert which leads to it not being approved by the moderator, you can make the neccersary amendment and resumbit it without the need to re-type everything.

Item (Forum title): Good Example: 2001Y Ibiza Cupra 36K Modified.
Bad Example: **LOOK HERE**

Description: Give as much clear information about the item in the body of post as possible.

Price: It's not rocket science, just a clearly displayed price.

Good Example: £2500 o.n.o
Bad Example: offers

Picture: Pictures are optional, but they always make it easier to sell the items.

Contact Info: Email or Phone Number or both! (PM is not a means of contact).

Please note that any items deemed unacceptable, by the moderators, will also be removed.

This includes, but is not restricted to, animals, copyrighted materials, weapons/ammunition and children.

CODE OF CONDUCT: - Placing an advert on SCN means you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.

1. You are the legal owner of the item offered - i.e. items posted on behalf of someone else will be deleted.

2. All classifieds ads are provided as-is and are placed entirely at the posters risk. SEATCupra.net cannot be held liable in the event of a claim arising from a dispute over an item listed on this site. Where possible we can help to contact the buyer / seller if a problem occurs and we ask that you report any classfieds issues to the admin/moderator team instead of posting the problem on the forums for mass speculation.

3. Buyer Beware!! SEATCupra.net does not in way warrant or guarantee the For Sale section of the forum. Any financial loss is at the risk of the buyer and seller.

4. Any adverts placed outside of the For Sale section should be reported to a moderator and should be ignored as it could be a scam if they are avoiding following our rules.

5. It is the duty of the seller to accurately describe the item(s) for sale and set a clear price as per our rules. Any extra charges such as delivery charges must be agreed with the buyer.

6. If you enter into an agreement on price and delivery charges, you can not then go back on that agreement. {once the agreement has been settled}

7. Payment is the responsibility of the buyer and seller to negotiate, and any payment should be made promptly.

8. The seller must post or dispatch by courier/mail, the item in a reasonable time frame. It is also good practice to inform the buyer when the item has been despatched. If the item is worth a considerable amount, recorded/special delivery or postal insurance should be considered.

9. Buyers should allow a reasonable amount of time for items to arrive if it has been despatched, and upon arrival the item should be checked immediately.

10. Any seller or buyer that fails to meet their obligation on any For Sale agreement will be barred from using the for sale section, or even removed from the forum entirely. Note that in the case of theft or fraud, all information regarding logs, ip, email information will be passed to the relevant authorities upon request.

SCN reserves the right to remove any adverts deemed unsuitable.
