Hi guys...

Just had my new h/u arrive in the post... isnt it shiney!! lol.

Alpine iDA x305, what is the easiest to do, and the best way to run the cable to;

a - the glove box
b - the ash trey
c - the 'change pot' under the ashtrey infront of the gear stick

Any help MUCH appreciated...

Ive just got my headunit and i dont know where to put the cable aswell so i would appreciate tips aswell:happy:

remove the glove box and feed the wire through the stereo slot. Then refit the glove box, you need to file a slot for the cable though, I modded the bezel that used to fit round the cd changer.

Remember to disconnect the battery first though or the air bag light is going to get you ;)

I just got a hole saw and drilled through the glove box and fed the wire through and into the stereo. Then bought an ipod cradle of flea bay for a couple of quid and mounted it so it was covering the hole.

Ash tray all the way... its perfect and takes little effort to put it there.

Seriously its awesome and its the perfect fit for an ipod classic.

u reckon Ipod touch will fit in there? i cant be bothered to walk out to me car ha

guys dont do any cutting or anything!!!

The ipod cable will just poke down the back and come out the side of the centre consol, thenyou can jus tuck the cable between the ashtray and the tray underneath the ashtray if that makes sense.

It's easier when you look at it, and when the head units out you can see how much space there is you can easily route the wire down there.

nope really simple, its not that far behind the dash the wire goes, just kinda poke it downwards and reach up from the footwell and you'll soon find it.

yeh, i didnt cut or remove a thing in the end,

with the h/u out, look throught the hole in the dash where it would be, and you can see the drivers foot well, feed it through there, then you can pull the cable to the storage infront of the gear stick, very easy..

i now have a nother problem....

I hooked it all up before I stuck is in perminantly, and it was working fine... now i got it in, which wasnt as easy as i hoped, as it didnt quite seem to fit in length ways with all the cables.... the speakers no longer work... well... there is no sounds... it says its playing, volume on high... and no fooking sound!!!!!

I'll have a trip to the hi-fi centre later... grrr

sorted it...

Tested my brothers iPod, it worked... so i restored all my iPhone settings, and it sorted itself out.

Woop.... now.... another issue....

It doesn't save the clock times :S wierd... ahh well... this will do!!!
