I know exactly what you mean - mind you I should do - thats my car!! I took it into SEAT and they told me to get some high temperature paint and then looked at me with a blank expression! So not to be outdone I hit him back with - wont that melt the brush! He wasnt amused - but at least I had the last laugh. Hammerite sounds about right to me.
PS If anyone wants to do it and can gaurantee a neat job I will pay them to do it.

Well bloody go and get a proper picture to stop me going mad! :D :D :cartman:

lol, no point in painting them either, they'll get so hot it will come off

Well I painted mine (only the back 2 wheel hubs so far - to test) at the beginning of the year with silver Hammerite. They have remained as good as when they were first painted.

you need to get them warmer then.....

rear brakes get little heat into them ever, so it's not a valid comparison

Hence why I painted the rear to test first.

Are you talking from experience or just speculation, regarding the paint coming off?

I've always painted brake parts and hubs with "Engine Paint" ie. high temperature paint. As long as you prepare the surface properly it works well.

I painted the hubs on my civic using HT paint (generally for exhausts, engines etc). It was a thin silver paint which was runny and easily applied compared to hammerite. It lasts ok.. heat is not really an issue but it does deteriorate over time and needs redone now and again. A nice coat of thinned hammerite should also give a good finish though.. It's good enough for the callipers :)

The leon hubs are slightly starting to corrode after a year but I will get these painted up as well

mine went rusty after 3 months from new painted with smooth hammerite alright now easier to clean as well

and after, used halfrauds heat resistant aluminium.since wheels were off i painted the calipers, boring red.

its the 1st time i have painted callipers on a car, took about 4 coats to get a good colour, it does dry fast though, its an old idea but when i seen a black leon pass me in the garage and they were painted red i thought that will do me.

Cheers for the pics Keith

Think the red calipers might be too much on my red car but they look excellent against your silver

might go for the silver hubs and calipers
