Just want to know if this will fit on my 55 plate tdi, I did a search and found out some info. I know that the engine cover has to come off so it would go on.
Can any help me out here, not sure if the sub frame is different on a tdi? thanks
Hi mate, I had asked about this on here before and spoke to Pabs, he thinks that brace might not fit as our diesel lumps are slightly lower than the petrols , I didn't look any further into this for the time being.
Let me know how you get on if you decide to go ahead with this
There is a plastic cover under the engine that just needs unclipping (you don't have to remove it), fit the brace with the 2 bolts and clip the plastic cover back in place.
It shouldn't take more than 30mins for the whole job.
The local garage did mine for me on the ramps so no jacking involved
I had seen the guide on www.leoncupra.co.uk, I am getting one of the SEAT tech's to double check the sub frame for the bolt holes, as I work for a VX dealer that does SEAT aswell (www.frosts4cars.co.uk) Thanks for your input people, I will keep you posted on this.....
I fitted one on my 03 plate 110tdi. The only thing is that I had to trim the plastic trim so it would fit snuggly as it bulged a bit. Just in a straight line where the bar goes. Inside/upper side is like lots of air bubble type raised so I just stanley knifed them off where needed. You can`t tell from below/underneath that its been trimmed.
