Morning folks,

Well unfortunately, my remap has effected my clutch, despite being very careful with it :(

SO I had a quick google and found various ones available. I found this one:

Just wondering if that is going to be ok to withstand 300~ lb ft of torque along with 165-170 bhp?

If not, can anyone point me in the direction of one that can (and won't break the bank) please :)

Just thought I'd add this in for thought, a friend of mine said I may be ok just getting another standard one, as mine has already done 72k so it had already had quite a life.

Any thoughts on this?

Note, it wasn't slipping before I had it mapped (that I am aware of)
 
Standard clutch should be OK but if your clutch is slipping and needs replacing why not bite the bullet and put an upgraded one in ? If you ever seek more power in the future youll be wishing you did.

As Lew said for stock/Stg 1 map a standard clutch will be fine (ive got 45K+ on my map and im not especially careful with it on occasions) and its still strong. The one in the link will do the job

any more power and you will need an uprated one. personally if i was to change id get the uprated setup, yes it will cost a few hundred more but will be future proof, and hammer proof (if you get my meaning)

clutches are know to fail from around 60k upwards (depending on treatment) so personally i wouldnt be too upset to having recieved 70k out of it
 
Go upgrade, the clutch should last over 100k at least and failing at less means it can't handle the poke imo, I personally would go upgrade. Darkside developments are doing the sachs kit with flywheel etc and also they're doing some southbend ones which are even stronger.
 
I have a Sachs organic clutch fitted by Jabbasport which has now done 70k miles with 205bhp and 380ftlbs running through it and it feels like new.It did cost a lot more than the one in your advert though but well worth the cost if you value quality.
 
Yeah to be honest I am not planning on doing any more mods power wise so I'm not sure its worth me buying a more expensive one that is all?

Am I right in thinking the cupra one I linked to will withstand more than a standard tdi130 one?

PD160's and PD130's share the same clutch.
 
I got mine from Sachs direct through a mate.

Awesome GTI sell them cheaper than darkside though

And I'm sure if you look about, plenty of other places will too.
 
I found loads of places all offering the clutch without flywheel for like £100 but no body actually had them in stock. I wont believe that anywhere does the sachs VR6 clutch cheaper unless someone can provide a proper link to somewhere that has them in stock. £125 for the clutch kit is a good price though and you could always get the flywheel second hand. A lot of out seats had them as standard including my cordy tdi.
