My bonnet lining has sagged down and is rubbing on the intake clip and now has a hole in it. I had read on here that it was a warranty issue so i took it back to where i had bought it a week ago.

I was taken through to the service side where a mechanic told me that it wasn't a warranty issue as it was caused but the engine being pressure washed. I explained i only bought it from them a week ago and i wasn't happy with that especially as i had done research on here.

I was then told that the warranty assessor??? would be in tomorrow and he would speak to them and get back to me.

Is this right?

thanks

Mike

deffo a warranty issue - I had mine replaced FOC and so have many others on this forum. I would speak to them again and ask to speak to manager if they keep on saying its not covered by warranty.

Had mine replaced under warranty, but only if it had not been powerwashed? Asked for the redesigned clips but because they were not for holding the felt on, not fitted. Not impressed.

So if they say no tomorrow who can I speak to? Also if worst comes to the worst how much is a lining?

If they say no, then hand them the keys and ask for your money back. You have had it a week and they are already treating you like this?????

Think about how they will treat you when it's something expensive.

Is it as easy as that?

1 week old?! No way would I take any sh*t off them. They must fix it.

On the same topic, mine seems to be getting an interesting white mould on it

It's not brand new it's 2yrs old with 4k on the clock.

I'm not happy though tbh but I'm trying not to get too annoyed as I'll end up not wanting the car at all

i knew someone would ask, i honestly cant remember but i think it was around the 40 mark got the newest clips too.... david a sere motors will set you up!

What dealer was it?

I took mine to one dealer and the tech told me there was a clip missing and that was causing it to be pulled over toward the other side and sag. I asked if he was sure the clips were that strong. The missing clip was at the front and it was sagging at the back.... he said take it to the dealer I bought the car from. Utter cr@p!!

I took it to AC linwood and they fixed it......twice.

It was the Seat garage in Glenrothes mate.

Thats strange as I have only heard good things about Fife Seat...

Me too mate, I didn't get to speak to Steven the owner though. In saying that though i did email him on sunday regarding this and sent pics and links to this site and as yet i've had no reply.

Hopefully i'll be surprised today though :)

UPDATE!

the claim has still not been decided by Seat but my dealer contacted me today to tell me that regardless of what happens with Seat they have ordered the lining and all new clips for me and would i like to nip in anytime after mondaty and they will fit it for me!

Excellent result!
