I was young, and had too much money. Now the money has gone and so has the style. I need your help in a way to get me out of this situaltion. Its 23:21 at night, and im walking out side looking at front bumpers... Its not right. What should i do? Im looking to go from a barry car, to a "rally car". Ive decided what to do with the interior. Its just the outside....

I dont want people to say "Do this, do that" without links to where or how i am supposed to do it.

The history:

My brother bought this Mk 2 Ibiza Cupra Sport several years ago. He modified it heavily.

Now i bought the car looking like that when i was 17. And i decided that everyone knew it was Robs car, my brothers, so had it in my head i had to change it round. I wish i hadnt, waste of money, it looked better then in many ways.

Anyway, i did. I changed the front bumper, added a morette grill(bad boy bonnet wouldnt fit anymore), side skirts, door mirrors, had the doors smoothed, :censored: spoiler :wtf:

now, the front bumper has slight fibre glass damage. 1 fog light bracket has bent/snapped (hanging lower and out of place) and one is full of water.

The back bumper is heavily damaged. I wished to replace it with the standard, but i wont have anywhere for my licence plate because of the smoothed tailgate... thats a problem...

Need to get some standard lights, anyone know where, we cant find the ones we took off.

The body shop got the yellow of the doors noticibly off. That really hacks me off.

I dont mind the bonnet but what do you think?

Should i keep the front bumper and just repair or put the standard one back on? ( i need a new front bumper skirt..... its on a cav turbo:( )

omg need some advice, please dont flame, or say "glad your changing". I want to change, help me with options as to what you think i should change to.

Might be worth selling the car and buying another more standard one? Could save you money in the long run. I'm having one of the lads' cat d's from here and need a front bumper, headlights, bonnet..it's a good few hundred quid.

You can get parts from sel-imperial.co.uk - I think that's where most of mine will come from - or a scrappy!
 
Your right to get flamed :lol:, on a serious not id try and revert it back to standard as much as possible you could proberly pick up alot of the stuff you need a on ebay and wouldnt cost an arm and a leg! then just add nice subttle mods, if you didnt want an OTT spoiler you could always go for the F2 spoiler theres plenty of links etc... on the site, if you seach for the user name surculation i think it is he has a nice 1.4 example. This is my old mk2 i thought it looked grear with nothing OTT at all. How old are you now by the way? i got shot of this at 23, as i thought i was out growing it pretty fast!

actually prefer the '2nd' *look* over the '1st'..... but still looks a bit Barry as you put it.. the morettes would look ok with a 'normal' bonnet on.. the front fogs are not a major issue.. just repair /replace bracket and remove water ingress and reseal (hell even clear silcon will do the job as long as you do it tidy).. the rear lights.. lose them!!! put a pair of tights over them.. put standard ones one, just GET RID!! spoiler.. hate them ones.. too 'PAXO' for my liking theres usually one floating about on Ebay (shame you didnt put this up a few days ago.. im in the process of selling some of the kit to make your car better..altho i do have a set of boggo standard rear lights of a non cupra *not smoked*and a Cupra back box) get a standard rear bumper, and sit your number plate on the bootlid.. you can buy the lights now that sit at an angle to get the correct settings.. gotta be better than a badly damaged rear bumper?

So you want to change your ibiza into a rally style car then?
Do you have the budget to do it?

To change to rally style imo you will need to do the following:
Remove front bumper, back bumper, sideskirts, bonnet, spoiler, lexus lights. I suggest chucking them all on ebay.

Modify your quadlights so the bit where the seat logo was dissapears so debadge the front.

The parts you need to buy are:
Bravus bodykit

£506.99 inc vat and delivery from potn.com

£369 from Abstyling.co.uk inc vat

Or you can do it slightly cheaper by buying a standard rear bumper from a facelift ibiza mk2 which is a 97-99 model. Saves you buying a new bumper and you can transfer your numberplate over to the bumper. Get some LED bolt lights for £5 off ebay ;)

Spoiler-wise your looking at the F2 one which is:

Could be cheaper if you shop round or check out ebay.

Bonnet, you would have to search around scrap yards for a rear ended ibiza, my experience of scrapyard ibiza's they have all been front enders. So you could leave it on, its not that bad.

Spray all the mesh on your car black, grey mesh just doens't suit it.

Might aswell leave the mirrors on. DTM rally mirrors you might aswell not have mirrors.

Is that a DTM exhaust? See if you can change the back box for a rally style one which would be a 3" outward rolled tailpipe one.

The get her stickered up if you want to go the WHOLE hog ;)

I dont agree, lower it 40mm.

Mine's slammed right now, and I hate it. The 16s scrape on the arches, my front splitter is wrecked and my exhaust comes off every week. No garage in town will touch it either.

Do you not have the standard bumpers and skirts lying around? If so, stick them back on ASAP :) Good to see the old wheels are on :)

If the car's mechanically sound and you know the history then all you'd need is standard bonnet, F2 front bumper, F2 rear bumper and maybe even keep the skirts.
 
you either need to bin everything and go standard, then lower it and do the subtle mods. other than that it might be cheaper to sell it and pick a new one up, some garages can track down ibiza parts 2nd hand, so try asking about and they can order them in for you, either you can buy it off them or get them to fit it all for you. get rid of the bonnet, personnaly i'd get the standard fog lights back in, and normal bumpers & side skirts, lower it on some black multispokes! re-spray the calipers yellow, and it will look a treat again! my old 8 valve was written off, but i was gonna keep it and use the money to do it up again, it was gonna cost 1,100 to fit a new tailgate, rear bumper and front bumper. so thats an idea of money for you. Only reason i didn't bother was becasue a newer 8 valve was up for sale in better all round condition so i bought that! good luck though mate.

Is it me or is that alloy been sparyed and it on the tyre? looks a mess didnt you cover the tryes?
