scrapping intercooler

iv spent the last couple of days really thinking about my custom FMIC, there is no exact problem with my intercooler apart from that it has recked my power, because i know this because off previous rolling results and the drop in power once the intercooler was fitted. the graph was absoulutly rubbish with the fmic fitted, half the amount of boost getting to the wheels, and the boost dropping stright off. my car pulled 30bhp more with a straight pipe intead of a intercooler. right i have been told by many people wot there opions are and iv got to the stage i dont no wot to belive!

by westec: the intercooler core was too restrictive

also: the volume of the intercooler is too large

also inlet and outlet holes are to large

also the pipework

i can have a new intercooler by monday for free with double the size core, and 3" inlet and outlet holes instead of 2" but i am goin to have to replace alot of the existing pipework to accomadate the increase in inlet and outlet size, and to be onint i cant be arsed to take a gamble with paying for the parts samco's etc and find that there is to much lag or more running problems i just want my cupra back!! lol
and there is a group buy on fmic for 600! and i know then it will be sorted!

wot does everyone think? i wanted to be different but really lost my head now

that pipework is gash.

People wonder why people pay forge for a developed product - and you have the proof there.

Is the FMIC 2nd hand? The Pipework looks like it's been not thought out right (using way too much OE stuff) and the Silicon looks like it's different sizes to the pipe diameter it clamps to.

I wouldn't let them anywhere near your car again

Does look like theyve though... hmm we need a 90 bend, theres a 60' over there and a 30' there, just stick em together with a bit of pipe... dont know a lot about intercoolers but ive seen some that look a lot better than that

his exhausts are amazing, i think he just did the best he could with the budget in mind, it'd be like asking quick fit to paint your car, its not his area of speciality

its a good point and the website is prospeed exhausts, but then why would he do it if he didnt know what he was doing? surely it would have been a recommendation to someone that could have done it?

it is the intercooler not the pipework mind because it runs fine without the intercooler in place so it my think it looks "gash" from underneath but runs and works perfectly well,
i have no leaks, all comman problems MAF's etc have all been checked it is the intercooler that is the problem.
its just the fact that it aint working right and i want it right asap, so c wot fore have to say

ive just fitted a forge fmic to my leon.
its made power a bit laggyer but i expected this and will have it remapped in a few weeks.

ive gone into limp mode 3 times since fitting, no dash light and it corrects itself after being parked up a while. im wondering if its adjusting?

my car spent 2 days in westec performance where they ripped bits off changed bits and basically checked everything, no leaks and the intercooler they said waqs fine other than the core was to restrictive, like i have said it could also be that the volume is too great, the size of the inlet/outlet holes,
dave for 10 psi to be leaking of of my intercooler u would be able to notice the leak like westec said,

I've had no problems with a laguna one, pipework 2" but then again its been proved before, you started something different

ive now had issues with mafs and temp sensors and the above. i`ll get limp mode but never a dash board warning light

why is this?
