well how far are you willing to drive? my usual place in MK will do it all for around that sorta cost and thats with uprated cupra bushes an all. My bush upgrade and service came to £300 last time and cambelt was £250
I'm pretty pleased with £600 if it all goes well, I don't want to drive too far out, and then end up waiting around in a garage all day, they'll never sort me out with a courtesy car as their insurance policies only ever kick in after you turn 21, and seeing as I'm still only 20 I'de get stranded! The place I'm getting it done is about an hour's walk away from my other-half's house, so looks like I'll be walking
EDIT: Note to self, boot other-half up the bum to learn to drive and get a car!
sounds expensive to me I got cambelt and water pump done for £400 granted bit of trade discount and not VAG specialist (my step uncle owns it so i trust them with my car) are you on about wishbone bushes, I paid less than that too and that was a VAG specialist what is their labour rate then as the part about about £20 I think! About hour half a side I think.
Whoop whoop. Car is in as we speak, really nice place actually and helpful. Cambelt and waterpump bit of the service will be costing me £329. So that's pretty good I think x
I'de really like to recommend the garage that I used, friendly and really knowledgeable. They are at thevwaudispecialists(dot)co(dot)uk, and located up Foleshill way.
In other news if anyone is looking for a driver's side rear light cluster I can help you out PM me.
x
Sold the spare light cluster .... and very quickly converted the cash into.....
the weather is being schizophrenic so it might not go on till tomorrow, I've got all the screws piloted and it's trimmed, just need some dry weather so I don't have to lie on my front on a wet driveway. Also, cos I'm a neat freak, I've got my hands on some black screw covers easy peasy to pop over the bright silver screws won't even be seen if you went looking under the car (and the heads stay clean )
I'll get some pictures up once it's on EEEEEEEEE
I'm gonna see how the plastic settles and if it needs some sealant I'll do it next week sometime when it's not piddling down with rain...
OH and after I have my windscreen replaced - the seal has failed
HIGHLARIOUS. I've just spent the day attacking green paint with sandpaper, and the stuff simply will not budge, and frankly I can't be bothered.
Looks like I'm going to fork out for a company to do them for me.
that is exactly what I am prob gonna do lol preview for me I am not sure about doing the bit round the grille too though, is that the plastic bit of a chrome one painted? I might do the s badge black too as i have a spare and some vinyl hmmm! Great minds think alike lol, I been searching about 6 months for a powder coater to do my wheels prices and workmanship all over the place doing my head in!
Haha! The orange bits on the badge are the plastic bits on the actual grille (lots of masking up) the chrome is untouched.
Similar deal at the rear - numberplate surround/badge surround - anything that was green in now orange.
My wheels will be finished early next week hopefully, and yes, they are the same colour
EDIT: I've just re-read your post - the grille surround was chrome (many moons ago)
